Langenhagen
Diethard KEUP from Hamburg left to me the
papers of his father, Wilhelm KEUP,
banker, born in 1900, recording the following (loose translation):
"In the earliest church book of accounts of Langenhagen
(Pomerania) is recorded
the following: Koepsche, deceased in 1628 ; further on 1652: Jakob
KEUP, also
called Kop. He was a farmer in Langenhagen and married. Further
registered is a maiden name: Brand, married name: KEUP, deceased
on
10/19/1691. Consequently the KEUPs had been living as farmers in
Langen-
hagen for centuries". From Jakob Keup up to Diethard Keup
the uninterrupted
line of ancestors has been documented covering about 11 generations.
