Kolberg
Betty Brown-KEUP is living in the City of Golden in Colorado,
U.S.A.
Her grandfather, Peter KEUP, coming from Robe near to Kolberg/Pomerania,
immigrated to the U.S.A. in the 19th century. Betty looked at the
parish register
of Robe and later on she wrote me the following:
“In the Kirche book from Robe I found the record
of my great grandparents
and maybe my great great grandfather Keup. The names of Franz and
Peter
are common. My grandfather (Opa) was born in Robe or Kolberg in
1866 ...
I also know there was a Keup who settled in Wisconsin about 50 miles
west of
Green Bay/Wisconsin. I have met the wife of a descendant of that
family. She
did not have dates but said there were three brothers named Peter,
Jakob and
Hans. The Robe church book had those names and I believe those are
her
descendants and that I am related to them. The village was very
small so that
all the Keups living there had to be related .”
